The Author
SpiritWalker's first attempt at writing was a sci-fi fantasy endeavor called "Bite of the Ironhills," and has yet to be published. Just after finishing this manuscript, an adventure of 10 years, he was fortunate enough to meet author Madeline Baker in an online author's chat room. She encouraged him to help her with a book she was currently writing. The book was a historical fiction romance novel. SpiritWalker assisted her in the storyline and historical research for the project and wrote four poems for the book. Ms. Baker decided to title the book after one of the poems and the title became "Spirit's Song," which can still be purchased from any bookstore. After that first encounter, SpiritWalker pitched a book idea to the already prolific writer. Ms. Baker loved the premise, but thought SpiritWalker should be the one to write the book. Thus began the nine-month journey of "Song on the Midnight Wind." The book would later be sold to Leisure Books and the title changed to "Desert Rain," after the lead female character in the book. The book was actually printed with two different covers, the one at the top of the page and one with a standard "western" design. The publishing house felt that the design above would appeal more to women readers of romance novels while the latter would appeal more to men readers of westerns. Only the romance design can be found in bookstores. The sequel, "Song of the Desert Blooming," to be titled "Desert Blooming," is soon to be released and the third in the series, "Song of the Eagles Crying," is almost finished. Besides these titles, SpiritWalker has finished "Arizona Gone," a historical fiction western, "Bite of the Ironhills," a sci-fi fantasy and "VRW," a contemporary crime novel, all yet to be sold. The links below will enable the online reader to read the first three chapters of these works. Desert Rain | Desert Blooming | Eagles Crying | Arizona Gone | Bite | VRW | Poetry |
