It all began in Roswell, New Mexico in 1955.  This picture, taken about 1959 in Roswell, shows a young SpiritWalker (Little Spirit) outside of his adobe house.

In 1963, SpiritWalker began to study Judo under the tutelage of his father who taught the martial art at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell.

SpiritWalker entered the Air Force himself in 1979.  This picture was taken during basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
